BardBoard

Terms of Use

Effective [publication date].

These terms cover your use of BardBoard, the iPhone keyboard and app, and the BardBoard Pro subscription, provided by James Hawkins ("we"). They add to Apple's standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement, which also applies. By using BardBoard you agree to both.

1. What BardBoard does

BardBoard is a keyboard. Its Bardify feature sends the text you choose to our server and to our AI provider, OpenAI, and replaces it with a rewrite in a Shakespearean style. How your text is handled is described in the Privacy Policy.

2. BardBoard Pro subscription

3. Acceptable use

Don't use BardBoard to:

We may suspend access for an installation that breaks these rules or harms the service.

4. Your content and responsibility

Your messages are yours, and so are the rewrites. You are responsible for what you choose to send to Bardify and for anything you send to other people, including rewrites. Read each rewrite before you send it.

5. No warranty on output

Rewrites are generated by an AI model. They are meant to be funny and are often exaggerated on purpose. They may be inaccurate, change your meaning, drop or alter a detail, or read in a way you didn't intend, even though BardBoard is designed to keep names, numbers and meaning intact. Check names, times, amounts and links before sending. Bardify may be unavailable at times, and some apps and fields do not allow third-party keyboards.

BardBoard is provided "as is" and "as available". To the extent the law allows, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose and accuracy of output.

6. Limitation of liability

To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect, incidental or consequential damages, or for any loss arising from messages you send, and our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid for BardBoard Pro in the 3 months before the claim. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under consumer protection law that cannot be waived.

7. Apple

These terms are between you and us, not Apple. Apple is not responsible for BardBoard or its content, has no obligation to provide maintenance or support for it, and is a third-party beneficiary of these terms with the right to enforce them against you.

8. Changes and ending

We may update these terms. If a change is significant we will say so in the app or its release notes before it takes effect. You can stop using BardBoard at any time by cancelling your subscription and deleting the app. We may discontinue the service; if we do, we will give reasonable notice in the app, and you can request a refund for the unused period from Apple.

9. Law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Washington, United States, except where the law of the country you live in gives you protections that cannot be waived.
